Amy
began her neonatal nursing career as a student nurse in Fresno in 1988.
After completing just one semester of nursing school she was given the
opportunity to work in a level II NICU. Her neonatal career started from
that point on, and she never left.
After graduating from California State University, Fresno with a
BSN in 1990, she started as a New Grad at Doctors Medical Center,
Modesto. Since, she has traveled throughout the country with her
now-husband working in tertiary NICU’s in New York, Los Angeles and
Children’s Hospital Oakland. She loves transport, ECMO and VLBW babies.
She recently graduated from the University of California, San
Francisco’s Advanced Practice Neonatal Program as a NP and CNS. She is
currently the newest NP/CNS at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto where she
coordinates the NICU education and Outreach programs along with patient
care management

Sharyn
brings many years of neonatal experience (since 1970) and expertise to
NCANN. She has been a neonatal nurse, educator, NNP, transport nurse and
CNS for many years. Most recently she is the CNS at Santa Clara Valley
Regional Medical Center in San Jose. She has been a NANN member since
1984.
She is also involved with the local chapter of the American Assoc. of
University Women. Her other interests include quilting as a member of
the South Valley Quilt Association and loves making quilts and attending
quilt shows.

Bernie has been an RN working with babies since
1978! Yes, that’s 28 years of neonatal experience. She started her
nursing career at City Hospital of Modesto in the NICU then moved to Doctors Medical
Center when the unit
opened in 1990. She is a transport specialist, charge nurse
extraordinaire, clinical preceptor, NRP Instructor and Clinical Nurse
III. Her clinical passions include active membership in the Immunization
Coalition of Stanislaus County and the regional immunization registry
the “RIDE”. Her interests include gardening, she is an active member of
the Modesto
Garden Club, cooking (she makes a mean chocolate brownie), and travel!
She is newly remarried to a wonderful man and has three grown boys ages
25, 22 and 20: A money mogul, a college student/musician and a Marine.

Sharon was born in New
Zealand.
She qualified as a
Registered General & Obstetric Nurse in 1981. Then spent some
time travelling in Europe & working in London. Worked in NICU since 1985
in NZ,LA & Modesto. Positions have included: staff nurse, transport
nurse, shift manager. Married, no children.
Enjoys travelling,
wine, food, reading & of course, mucking about on the computer'
